Checking voltage supply and current consumption of fuel system pressurisation pump G6, engine codes CFHC, CFHE, CFHF, CLCA, CLCB, CFJA on Audi: 24 steps.

Workshop procedure for AUDI — the exact step sequence and torque figures, straight from real workshop data.

24 steps 28 engine codes

🧭 Before you start

Fits: VW Caddy III (2K, 2004–2015); platform code 2C0

  • Special tools named: VAS 5565
  • Renewed: fuel delivery unit

Don't miss

  • Switch on ignition (2nd mechanic). The fuel pump must be heard to run for about 2 seconds.
  • To check the voltage, the engine has to be started or the delivery unit has to be actuated via the tester.
  • The fuel pump is now actuated for 30 seconds.
  • Pickup clamp of hand-held multimeterV.A.G 1715 can also be connected to red terminal with lettering "“pickup clamp”" of test instrument adapter/DSO (5-pin)VAS 5565.

📋 Procedure

  1. Separate connector (A) to supplementary fuel pump V393.
  2. Raise vehicle.
  3. Switch on ignition (2nd mechanic). The fuel pump must be heard to run for about 2 seconds.
  4. Connect Vehicle diagnosis tester and then carry out Guided function "“Checking electrical fuel pump(s)”". [Note: To check the voltage, the engine has to be started or the delivery unit has to be actuated via the tester.]
  5. If fuel pump does not start, lower fuel tank.

  1. Pull connector off fuel delivery unit flange.
  2. Connect test instrument adapter/DSO (5-pin)VAS 5565 between connector and flange.
  3. Connect hand-held multimeterV.A.G 1526D to contacts (1) and (5) of adapter.
  4. Connect Vehicle diagnosis tester and then carry out Guided function "“Checking electrical fuel pump(s)”". [Note: The fuel pump is now actuated for 30 seconds.]
  5. Read voltage value on hand-held multimeterV.A.G 1526D: specification = approx. battery voltage.
  6. Check activation of fuel pump relay and wiring for an open or short circuit .
  7. Remove fuel delivery unit .
  8. Check that the electrical lines between flange and fuel pump are connected and have continuity.
  9. Renew fuel delivery unit. [Note: The battery voltage and the diesel fuel temperature have a great influence on the current draw of the fuel pump. For this reason ensure that the battery voltage is at least 12 V whilst checking and the diesel fuel temperature does not fall to the freezing point.]
  10. Lower fuel tank.
  11. Release connector (1) and pull it off flange.
  12. Connect test instrument adapter/DSO (5-pin)VAS 5565 to connector and fuel delivery unit.
  13. Connect pick-up clamp (A) to red terminal with lettering "“pick-up clamp”" for test instrument adapter/DSO (5-pin)VAS 5565. [Note: Pickup clamp of hand-held multimeterV.A.G 1715 can also be connected to red terminal with lettering "“pickup clamp”" of test instrument adapter/DSO (5-pin)VAS 5565.]
  14. Separate connector (A) to supplementary fuel pump V393.
  15. Switch ignition on.
  16. Connect Vehicle diagnosis tester and then carry out Guided function "“Checking electrical fuel pump(s)”". [Note: The fuel pump is now actuated for 30 seconds.]
  17. Read current draw on hand-held multimeterV.A.G 1526D. Specification: max. 7.5 amps.
  18. If the measured value is not within specifications:
  19. Renew fuel delivery unit.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.

Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
