🧭 Before you start

Fits: VW Caddy III (2K, 2004–2015); platform code 2C0

  • Renewed: fuel delivery unit

Don't miss

  • Switch ignition on. The LED must now light up for approx. 2 seconds.
  • The current pick-up clamp of multimeterV.A.G 1715 can also be attached to an auxiliary cable between contacts (1) of connector and fuel pump.

📋 Procedure

  1. ⚠ The fuel and the fuel lines in the fuel system can become very hot (danger of scalding)! The fuel system is also under pressure! Before opening the system, place cloths around the connection. Then carefully loosen connection to release the pressure!Wear eye and hand protection when performing all assembly work on the fuel system! — Pull supply hose (1) off fuel line (2).
  2. Hold supply hose (1) in a measuring container (3).
  3. Start engine for 2 seconds.
  4. Switch off ignition.
  5. Check fuel lines for kinks.

  1. Check fuel filter for blockage.
  2. Lower fuel tank just enough to enable connector on flange to be pulled off:
  3. Connect voltage testerV.A.G 1527B to outer contacts of connector using auxiliary cables from auxiliary measuring setV.A.G 1594C.
  4. Switch ignition on. The LED must now light up for approx. 2 seconds.
  5. Check activation of fuel pump relay and wiring for open circuit and short circuit .
  6. Remove fuel delivery unit .
  7. Check that the electrical lines between flange and fuel pump are connected and have continuity.
  8. Renew fuel delivery unit .
  9. Pull connector off fuel delivery unit flange.
  10. Set multimeter to measuring range 20 A. Connect in series between contacts (1) of connector and fuel pump using auxiliary cables from auxiliary measuring setV.A.G 1594C. [Note: The current pick-up clamp of multimeterV.A.G 1715 can also be attached to an auxiliary cable between contacts (1) of connector and fuel pump.]
  11. Connect contacts (5) of connector and fuel pump using auxiliary cable from auxiliary measuring setV.A.G 1594C.
  12. Start engine and run at idling speed.
  13. Measure current draw of fuel pump. Specification: 3.5…4.5 amps.
  14. Renew fuel delivery unit .

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.

Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
