Removing and installing side trim of luggage compartment, Passat CC 2009► and CC 2010► — VW
Removing and installing side trim of luggage compartment, Passat CC 2009► and CC 2010► on VW: 6 steps, 2 torque figures.
This is the side trim in the boot of the Passat CC (357, 2008–2012), covering cars from 2009► and the CC from 2010►, with the other platform codes listed below. It is a short trim job: the boot floor covering and the lock carrier cover come out first, then the tie-down ring is removed on its two bolts and a single bolt behind it is undone. Four press studs are released with release tool T10236 and the trim is lifted off its mountings. Refitting is in reverse. The points that matter are the two different torques, 6 Nm for the tie-down ring bolts and only 1.5 Nm for the trim bolt, and checking the lock buttons, which are easy to damage on removal.
🧭 Before you start
Remove the boot floor covering and lock carrier cover. Undo the two tie-down ring bolts and the trim bolt, release the four press studs with T10236 and detach the trim. Refit in reverse, tightening the tie-down ring bolts to 6 Nm and the trim bolt to 1.5 Nm.
Fits: VW Passat CC (357, 2008–2012), VW Passat B6 (3C, 2005–2010)
Don't miss
- Tie-down ring bolts go back at 6 Nm; they hold luggage loads.
- The trim bolt takes only 1.5 Nm and will strip the plastic if overtightened.
- Use release tool T10236 for the press studs to avoid breaking them.
- Check the lock buttons for damage before refitting and renew any that are broken.

🔩 Torque settings
Values can differ between engine variants — check the code stamped on your block.
| Torque | Fastener / step |
|---|---|
| 1.5 Nm (1.1 lb-ft) | Unscrew bolt (3 |
| 6 Nm (4.4 lb-ft) | Remove the two bolts (1 |
ℹ️ Always cross-check the exact figure against your vehicle's factory manual before final tightening — a wrong torque can damage the engine. These values are extracted from workshop data and may not cover every variant or revision.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
