Removing and installing fuel pressure sender G247: VW Polo 6R 1.2 TDI (CFWA, CLNA, CWXA, CWXB)
Step-by-step removing and installing fuel pressure sender G247 for the VW Polo 6R 1.2 TDI: 14 steps. What to remove, in what order, and what to check.
The fuel pressure sender G247 on the Polo 6R (6R1, 2009–2014) with engines CFWA, CLNA, CWXA and CWXB screws into the high-pressure accumulator, so this is a cleanliness job above all. With the engine cover off, the area around the sender is cleaned and dried before the connector is pulled and the sender is undone with an extended socket, never an open or split ring spanner. Dirt is sucked out of the bore and the hole is plugged at once. The sender seals with a deformable lip rather than a separate seal and can be reused if the lip and thread are undamaged; its thread has a special coating that must stay free of oil and grease. Leak checks and a road test finish it.
🧭 Before you start
Remove the engine cover, clean and dry the area around G247, unplug it and unscrew it with an extended socket while catching fuel in a cloth. Extract dirt from the bore with suction, plug it, and inspect the sealing lip, thread and bore face. Fit the sender by hand, then to its specified torque, run the engine at moderate speed, check for leaks and read the event memory. Road test with at least one full-throttle run, recheck for leaks and read the memory again.
Fits: VW Polo 6R (2009–2014)
Don't miss
- Clean around the sender before removal; no dirt may enter the high-pressure accumulator bore.
- Use an extended socket only, never an open-ended or open ring spanner.
- Keep the coated thread free of oil and grease.
- Check the deformable sealing lip and the bore sealing surface; the sender can be reused if both are undamaged.
- After a full-throttle road test, recheck the high-pressure side for leaks and read the event memory.

📋 Procedure
- ⚠ First read through the rules for cleanliness and the instructions for working on the fuel system.Follow these instructions before starting work and while working on the fuel system. — Remove engine cover panel .
- Before removal, clean area around thread for fuel pressure sender, using e.g. a cold cleaning solvent. No dirt must enter the bore in the high-pressure accumulator.
- Dry fuel pressure sender G247.
- Pull electrical connector from fuel pressure sender G247.
- ⚠ Do not remove fuel pressure sender with open-ended spanner or open ring spanner - Risk of damage!Use an extended socket insert. — Collect escaping fuel with a cleaning cloth.
- Unscrew fuel pressure sender G247.
- Use suction device to extract dirt from fuel distributor bore (threads and sealing surface). Do not use metal tools, etc. [Note: Seal off high-pressure accumulator hole immediately with a suitable plug to prevent dirt from entering.] [Note: Fuel pressure sender G247 has a deformable sealing lip, not a seal, for sealing purposes.Check that sealing surfaces (deformable sealing lip) and threads on fuel pressure sender G247 are undamaged. The fuel pressure sender G247 can be re-used.Check the sealing surface of the fuel distributor bore as well. The thread on the fuel pressure sender G247 has a special lubricating coating. The thread must be kept free of oil and grease.]
- ⚠ Do not tighten fuel pressure sender with open-ended spanner or open ring spanner - Risk of damage!Use an extended socket insert. — Tighten fuel pressure sender G247 by hand.
- Then tighten sender. Specified torque .
- After installing, leave engine running at moderate speed for a few minutes and then switch off again.
- Checking fuel system for leaks .
- Read event memory.
- Then road test the vehicle, accelerating to full throttle at least once. Check high pressure part of fuel system again for leaks.
- Read event memory.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
