🔩 Torque settings
Values can differ between engine variants — check the code stamped on your block.
| Torque | Fastener / step |
|---|---|
| 8 Nm (5.9 lb-ft) | Remove bolt (3 |
ℹ️ Always cross-check the exact figure against your vehicle's factory manual before final tightening — a wrong torque can damage the engine. These values are extracted from workshop data and may not cover every variant or revision.
📋 Procedure
- ⚠ Observe safety instructions for pyrotechnic components .Risk of injury due to automatic engine starting in vehicles with a start/stop system. In vehicles with an activated Start/Stop system (indicated by a message in the dash panel insert), the engine may start automatically. When working on the vehicle, make sure that the Start/Stop system is deactivated (switch off the ignition; switch the ignition on again if necessary). — Disconnect battery earth cable with ignition switched on Electrical system 27. Battery; Connecting and disconnecting battery.

- Pull out connector lock (2), press it down (arrow) and disconnect connector (1) on crash sensor.
- ⚠ Observe safety instructions for pyrotechnic components .Before handling pyrotechnic components (e.g. connecting the electrical connector), the person handling them must ensure that he/she is "“electrically discharged”". To do this e.g. briefly touch the door striker plate. — Push connector (1) onto crash sensor until it engages audibly (arrow).
- Press in connector lock (2) to lock the connector. [Note: Ensure electrical connector is pushed fully onto stop and engages audibly. Ensure that no wires are trapped.]
- ⚠ Battery must be connected with ignition switched on. If pyrotechnic components (e.g. airbag, seat belt tensioners) are repaired incorrectly, undesired triggering may occur after the battery is connected. Ensure that nobody is in vehicle when connecting battery. — Connect battery earth cable with ignition switched on Electrical system 27. Battery; Connecting and disconnecting battery. [Note: If airbag warning lamp K75 indicates a fault following installation, event memory must be read, deleted and read again .]

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
