  1. Dismantling evaporator housing .
  2. Remove seal (6) from evaporator housing.
  3. Remove bolts (2) and (7) (1.5 Nm). — 1.5 Nm (1.1 lb-ft)
  4. Separate upper part of evaporator housing (1) from lower part of evaporator housing (8).
  5. Remove evaporator (3) with expansion valve (5) from lower part of evaporator housing (8).
  6. Remove insulation (4) from expansion valve (5). [Note: Take care not to damage evaporator seal (9) when removing.] [Note: Before inserting evaporator (2), check condensation draining in lower part of evaporator housing (5); clean as necessary. Before inserting, clean lower part of evaporator housing (5) and, if necessary, evaporator (2).Before inserting evaporator (2), ensure that seal (1) is not damaged and bonded all around.]
  7. Place insulation (3) on expansion valve (4).
  8. Insert evaporator (2) in lower part of evaporator housing (5). When doing this, ensure that seal (1) is not damaged anywhere around circumference. [Note: After assembling both housing halves, check correct installation position of insulation (3).If insulation (3) is missing or incorrectly installed, it may lead to reduced performance of the air conditioning system (due to changes in the set mapped values of the expansion valve through heat radiation).]

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
