Removing and installing front emblems: Audi A4 B8

Step-by-step removing and installing front emblems for the Audi A4 B8: 10 steps. What to remove, in what order, and what to check after.

Front badges on the Audi A4 B8 (2007–2015) clip into the radiator grille, and this page covers both the standard rings and the RS 4 emblem. For the rings, the reinforcement strut comes off for access; a securing tab is lifted and the retaining catch released, then the emblem is taken off the grille. For the RS 4 badge, the lock carrier cover comes off instead, the retaining tabs are released and the emblem is pushed out towards the outside of the car. Neither is difficult, but the catches are plastic and it is easy to break them by prising from the front. Work from behind, release the catches properly, and when refitting press until each badge engages audibly before putting the strut or cover back.

10 steps

🧭 Before you start

For the rings, remove the reinforcement strut, lift the securing tab, release the catch and detach the emblem. For the RS 4 emblem, remove the lock carrier cover, release the tabs and push the badge outwards. Refit by pressing each emblem on until it engages audibly, then reinstall the strut or cover.

Fits: Audi A4 B8 (8K, 2007–2015)

Don't miss

  • Release the catches from behind; prising from the front breaks plastic retainers.
  • The RS 4 emblem comes out towards the outside of the car once its tabs are released.
  • Press each emblem until it engages audibly; a silent fit is a loose fit.
  • Reinstall the reinforcement strut or lock carrier cover after the badge is seated.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
