📋 Procedure
- Remove drive chain for high-pressure pump (left-side) and oil pump .
- Lock high-pressure pump hub with diesel injection pump locking pin3359.
- ⚠ If a used drive chain for high-pressure pump rotates in the opposite direction when it is refitted, this can cause irreparable damage.Mark running direction of drive chain with coloured arrows for re-installation. — Unscrew bolts (arrows) for chain sprocket (1) for high-pressure pump.
- Remove diesel injection pump locking pin3359. [Note: Disregard (item 2).]
- Wrap insulating tape around tip and shaft of a 3.3 mm drill bit to avoid cuts when using drill bit as locking tool.
- Press tensioning rail (2) of chain tensioner in direction of (arrow) and lock chain tensioner by inserting 3.3 mm drill bit (item 1).
- Detach guide rail (1)(arrow).
- Detach chain sprocket for high-pressure pump with spacer(s) and drive chain.
- ⚠ Make sure drive chain sprockets align to prevent damage to drive chain. After renewing high-pressure pump, align chain sprocket for high-pressure pump before fitting drive chain 23. — If high-pressure pump was not renewed, fit spacer(s) (1) removed previously onto hub of high-pressure pump.
- Bring drive chain sprocket (1) with drain chain into installation position.
- Fit guide rail (2).
- Fit bolts (arrows) for chain sprocket without tightening.
- Lock hub of high-pressure pump (right-side) with diesel injection pump locking pin3359.
- Pull drill bit (1) out of locating hole, this releases the chain tensioner (2).
- Tighten bolts (arrows) for chain sprocket (1).
- Remove diesel injection pump locking pin3359. [Note: Disregard (item 2).]
- Install drive chain for high-pressure pump (left-side) and oil pump .

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
