Note
Lay a clean cloth under the separating point to catch escaping fuel.
WARNING
The fuel can become extremely hot. This can cause injuries.
In extreme cases the fuel lines and the fuel can reach a temperature of 100 °C on vehicles with common rail engine, even after the engine is switched off. Allow the fuel to cool down before disconnecting the lines - danger of scalding.
Wear protective gloves.
Wear safety goggles.
Risk of injury - fuel system operates under high pressure.
To reduce the pressure in the fuel system, wrap a clean cloth around the connection and carefully loosen the connection.
Caution
Observe rules for cleanliness when working on the injection system
Chapter
.
Disconnect fuel supply hose
1
from fuel filter.
Note
Ignore other items.
Hold end of detached fuel supply hose
arrow
into measuring container.
Note
If necessary, lengthen fuel supply hose with an auxiliary hose.
Press remote control button for 15 seconds.
Compare amount of fuel delivered with minimum delivery shown in diagram (cm
3
/15 sec.).
Note
Voltage at fuel pump with engine stationary and pump running is approx. 2 volts less than battery voltage.
If minimum delivery rate is not reached, check for the following causes:
There is not enough fuel in fuel tank.
Fuel lines have been crushed.
One of the two fuel pumps is defective.
Note
With this test the fuel filter is not checked for any obstructions. If necessary, check the filter separately.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
