  1. Detach air filter element with air mass meter 2G246.
  2. Remove bolts (arrows) and detach air mass meter G70 / G246(item 2) from air filter element (1). [Note: If the air filter elements are severely contaminated or soaked, dirt particles or moisture could ingress as far as the air mass meters and bias the measured air mass value. This would lead to loss of power, since a smaller injection quantity is calculated.Always use genuine parts for air filter elements. The air cleaner housing MUST be clean.Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) Electronic parts catalogue. To prevent malfunctions, cover all critical parts of the engine air intake tract (air mass meter, intake pipes, etc.) with a clean cloth when blowing out the air cleaner housing with compressed air. Please observe requirements for disposal.]
  3. Blow out water drain (small hole in bottom section of air cleaner) with compressed air.
  4. Clean salt residue, dirt and leaves out of air cleaner housing (top and bottom sections); use a vacuum cleaner if necessary.
  5. Check for salt residue, dirt and leaves in air mass meters and air intake hoses (engine intake side).
  6. Check air ducts leading to air cleaner housing for dirt and leaves
  7. Bolt air mass meters back onto air filter elements.
  8. Ensure that O-ring (1) is fitted correctly; renew O-ring if damaged.
  9. Carefully insert air filter element into grooves (arrows).
  10. Fit the top section of the air cleaner carefully on the bottom section, without using force.
  11. Make sure that air hoses are securely fitted.
  12. Install air ducts with screw-type clips .

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
