21 steps 8 engine codes

🧭 Before you start

Fits: Audi Q5 (8R, 2008–2017)

  • Special tools named: dial gauge

Don't miss

  • Make sure that dial gauge can move freely.
  • The turbocharger testerV.A.G 1397A cannot display values greater than 580 mbar.
  • If too much vacuum is vented, bring pressure back up to 580 mbar and then adjust by venting again.

  1. Connect hand vacuum pumpVAS 6213 and pressure control valveVAS 6342 to vacuum unit (arrow) and connection "“II”" of turbocharger tester V.A.G 1397A, as shown in illustration.
  2. Close pressure control valveVAS 6342.
  3. Move adjuster ring on hand vacuum pumpVAS 6213 to position for "“vacuum”".
  4. Switch on turbocharger testerV.A.G 1397A and set sliding switch to position "“II”".
  5. Make sure that dial gauge can move freely.
  6. Operate hand vacuum pumpVAS 6213 until turbocharger testerV.A.G 1397A indicates the following value: [Note: The turbocharger testerV.A.G 1397A cannot display values greater than 580 mbar.]
  7. Set dial gauge to "“0”".
  8. Note measured value.
  9. Vent vacuum using pressure control valveVAS 6342. [Note: If too much vacuum is vented, bring pressure back up to 580 mbar and then adjust by venting again.]
  10. Vent vacuum using pressure control valveVAS 6342.
  11. If specification is not attained, loosen lock nut (1).
  12. Remove securing clip (3) and detach operating rod (2) from mounting pin.
  13. Lengthen or shorten front part of operating rod by turning it to left/right.
  14. Fit operating rod (2) on mounting pin again.
  15. Repeat test with hand vacuum pumpVAS 6213 and dial gaugeVAS 6341/1.
  16. If specification is attained, fit securing clip and tighten lock nut.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
