📋 Procedure

ℹ️ Torque figures below come verbatim from workshop data — always cross-check against your vehicle's factory manual before final tightening.

Removing and installing wheel bearing, suspension strut, drive shaft (basic running gear)
Note
If a vehicle has to be moved after the drive shaft has been removed, first install an outer joint instead of the drive shaft and tighten to 50 Nm because otherwise the wheel bearing will be damaged.
It is not permitted to weld or straighten suspension parts which bear loads or locate the front wheels
Always renew self-locking nuts.
Always renew corroded nuts and bolts.
Specified torque for wheel bolts: 110 Nm
Self-locking hexagon nut, 265 Nm
Only loosen and tighten with the vehicle standing on its wheels (danger of accident).
Remove any paint residue or corrosion on thread of outer joint before fitting nut.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
