Removing and installing suspension strut
There are various shock absorber versions =>See parts catalogue.
The same version must always be installed on the left and right.
If a different version is installed in the vehicle, the shock absorbers must be replaced as a pair.
Remove wheels.
Detach connecting link from suspension strut on both sides of the vehicle.
Pull spring clip out from bracket and detach brake hose.
Detach wire for speed sensor from suspension strut.
Remove noise insulation panel.
Unbolt drive shaft at flange shaft/gearbox.
Pretensioning torque: 10 Nm
Tightening torque: 70 Nm
Secure drive shaft with wire.
Remove bolted connection between wheel bearing housing and suspension strut.
Note installation position of bolt.
-See illustration-
Insert special tool 3424 into slot -arrow-.
Turn ratchet through 90° and detach from 3424.
Press brake disc by hand towards suspension strut.
Otherwise the shock absorber tube could become misaligned in the bore of the wheel bearing housing.

Do not press against the ball head with the gearbox lifter.
For this purpose press brake disc by hand towards suspension strut.
Otherwise the shock absorber tube could become misaligned in the bore of the wheel bearing housing.
Remove expander -3424-.
The shock absorber must be fitted to the stop in the wheel carrier.
Further installation of suspension strut is performed in reverse order

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
