Removing and installing side vent air ducts: VW Sharan II / SEAT Alhambra
Step-by-step removing and installing side vent air ducts for the VW Sharan II / SEAT Alhambra: 6 steps, 1 torque figure.
Removing and installing the side vent air ducts on the Sharan II and Alhambra (platform 7N, 2010 onwards). The ducts are fixed to the back of the dash panel, so there is no way to reach them in the car: the complete dash panel comes out first, following the interior body repair procedure, and is laid face down on a padded surface. With the panel on the bench the job itself is small. The duct bolts come out, the ducts lift away and the new or refitted ducts go back in reverse order. What decides the outcome is care with the dash panel itself, both on the bench and on refitting, and not overtightening the small duct bolts, which are specified at only 1.5 Nm into plastic.
🧭 Before you start
Remove the dash panel as described in the interior body repair section and lay it face down on a padded surface. Unscrew the duct bolts and lift the air ducts off the panel. Fit the ducts in reverse order, tightening the bolts to 1.5 Nm, then reinstall the dash panel.
Fits: VW Sharan II / SEAT Alhambra (7N, 2010–)
Don't miss
- Lay the dash panel on a padded surface so the visible face is not scratched.
- The duct bolts are only 1.5 Nm; they thread into plastic and strip easily.
- Check the ducts seat fully against their vents before the panel goes back.
- General practice: check every vent blows properly once the dash is refitted.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
