Removing and installing pressure differential sender G505 or pressure differential sender 2G524 — VW
Removing and installing pressure differential sender G505 or pressure differential sender 2G524 on VW: 23 steps, engines CKDA.
Pressure differential senders G505 and G524 on the CKDA engine in the Touareg II (platform codes 7P5 and 7P6) are tucked behind the gearbox, so getting to them is the whole job. The engine cover and intake hoses come off, then the rear noise insulation, both particulate filters and both catalytic converters, with the propshaft detached at front and rear. The gearbox is then supported on an engine and gearbox jack, its support is unbolted, and it is lowered just far enough to reach the sender connectors and bolts. The sender pipe unions break off very easily, so the hoses are sprayed with silicone-free lubricant and pulled off straight. The jack must stay under the gearbox and supervised the whole time it is lowered.
🧭 Before you start
Remove the engine cover, intake hoses, rear insulation, particulate filters, catalytic converters and propshaft. Support the gearbox on the jack, unbolt the gearbox support and lower it the specified distance. Unplug and unbolt the sender, lubricate and pull its hoses straight off, and blow the hoses through toward the filter if clogged. Refit everything in reverse, including the gearbox support and propshaft.
Fits: VW Touareg II (7P, 2010–2018)
- Special tools named: V.A.G 1383
Don't miss
- Never remove the jack or leave the car unattended while the gearbox is lowered.
- Pull sender hoses off straight; the unions break off the sender very easily.
- Use silicone-free lubricant on the hoses, nothing else.
- Blow the hoses through toward the particulate filter to clear any blockage before refitting.

📋 Procedure
- Remove engine cover panel .
- Open clips of intake hoses (A) and (B) and remove intake hoses.
- Remove rear noise insulation 50.
- Remove particulate filters on left and right .
- Detach propshaft at rear from gearbox Transfer box and axle drives39.
- Push rear of propshaft and rear axle drive together; the constant velocity joints can be displaced axially.
- Remove left catalytic converter .
- Remove propshaft from front of transfer box Transfer box and axle drives39.
- Remove right catalytic converter .
- Place ram of engine and gearbox jack V.A.G 1383 A with mounted gearbox support T10337 under gearbox and brace gearbox in place.
- ⚠ Risk of accidents. It is not permissible to remove the engine and gearbox jackV.A.G 1383 A during installation work or to leave it under the vehicle without supervision. — Unscrew bolts (1) for gearbox support.
- Lower gearbox with engine and gearbox jackV.A.G 1383 A and the distance (a).
- Detach electrical connector (2) and remove bolt (1).
- If the hoses (4) of the pressure sensor are to be removed, open hose clips and spray the two hoses with silicon-free lubricant.
- Detach electrical connector (2) and remove bolt (3).
- If the hoses (4) of the pressure sensor are to be removed, open hose clips and spray the two hoses with silicon-free lubricant.
- Pull hoses carefully and straight from unions (unions break off pressure sensor very easily). [Note: Blow compressed air through hoses in direction of particulate filter in order to remove clogging or ice resulting from condensation.Make sure that hoses are securely fitted and seal properly. If pressure line has become loose at particulate filter, tighten pressure line to 45 Nm.Secure all hose connections with the hose clips corresponding to original equipment Parts catalogue.Attach all cable ties in the same places when installing.]
- Install gearbox support 37.
- Install catalytic converter .
- Install propshaft for front transfer box Transfer box and axle drives39.
- Mount propshaft on rear axle drive Transfer box and axle drives39.
- Install particulate filter .
- Install rear noise insulation 50.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
