Removing and installing moulded headliner, Passat CC 2009► and CC 2010► — VW

Don't miss

• Clip profile is fastened with a total of 20 clips.
• Exchanging clips "“part no. 1K0 867 633”" below roof grab handle greatly simplifies the installation of the moulded headliner. It is recommended therefore to renew the old clips.

🔩 Torque settings

Values can differ between engine variants — check the code stamped on your block.

ℹ️ Always cross-check the exact figure against your vehicle's factory manual before final tightening — a wrong torque can damage the engine. These values are extracted from workshop data and may not cover every variant or revision.

📋 Procedure

1. Open panorama sunroof, if fitted.
2. Switch off ignition.
3. Remove front interior and reading lights:
4. Vehicle with no panorama sunroof, remove roof mounted grab handles .
5. Remove upper A-pillar trims .

6. Release upper B-pillar trims from retainers .
7. Remove sun visor
8. Remove C-pillar trims:
9. Release cover caps from mirror (arrows) using wedge3409.
10. Pull off connector (1) and remove bolts (2) (1.6 Nm). — 1.6 Nm (1.2 lb-ft)
11. In vehicles with panorama sunroof, release surrounding clip profile (1) from retaining clips (2)(arrow) with release tool T10236 and removal wedge3409. [Note: Clip profile is fastened with a total of 20 clips.]
12. Release moulded headliner in area of C-pillar inwards from catches (arrow).
13. Pull moulded headliner (1) downwards out of remaining clips.
14. Remove windscreen General body repairs, exterior64Glazing; flush-bonded windows; Removing windscreen
15. Remove moulded headliner from vehicle through opening for windscreen.
16. Guide moulded headliner into vehicle through opening for windscreen.
17. Install windscreen General body repairs, exterior64Glazing; flush-bonded windows; Installing windscreen
18. Install in reverse order of removal. [Note: Exchanging clips "“part no. 1K0 867 633”" below roof grab handle greatly simplifies the installation of the moulded headliner. It is recommended therefore to renew the old clips.]
