Moulded headliner (Spacefox/Suran) "“sunroof”" - remove and install — VW

• For the removal of the roof's pre-molded lining (3), it is recommended the help of a second operator.

🔩 Torque settings

Values can differ between engine variants — check the code stamped on your block.

ℹ️ Always cross-check the exact figure against your vehicle's factory manual before final tightening — a wrong torque can damage the engine. These values are extracted from workshop data and may not cover every variant or revision.

📋 Procedure

1. Remove the roof grab handles .
2. Remove A-pillar coverings .
3. Remove B-pillar upper linings .
4. Remove the C pillar linings .
5. Remove the lining from column D.

6. Remove the sun visors .
7. Remove make-up mirror lights Electrical system 96Switches, lights and internal lamps, alarm.
8. Remove the cover (7) of the Sliding sunroof motor V1 and disconnect the connector of the ultra-sound sensor for alarm system G209.
9. Remove Sliding sunroof motion control unit J245General body repairs, exterior60Sunroof .
10. Remove the screws (9)
11. Remove the rear reading lights Electrical equipment96Internal bulbs, lights and switches, alarm.
12. Disengage the clip (5) by using the Ejector lever80-200.
13. Pull the roof's pre-molded lining (3) in the rear area, out of the rear lid sealing (2).
14. Uniformly lower the roof's pre-molded lining (3) and remove it through the vehicle's rear side (luggage compartment). [Note: For the removal of the roof's pre-molded lining (3), it is recommended the help of a second operator.] [Note: Before the assembly, check the spacers (6) for the right seating and, if necessary, fasten with proper glue.Carefully remove fastening clamp (5).After installing, check if the roof's pre-molded lining (3) is completely fitted to the seating of the rear lid sealing(2).]
15. Tighten the securing bolt (9) to the torque of (1.5 Nm). — 1.5 Nm (1.1 lb-ft)
