Removing and installing
air conditioner magnetic clutch
N25
Special tools and workshop equipment required
Pin wrench
VAS 3212
Torque wrench (5…50 Nm)
V.A.G 1331
Not illustrated:
Two-arm puller
Three-arm puller
Depth gauge
Note
It is not necessary to open the refrigerant circuit to remove and fit the
air conditioning system magnetic clutch
N25
. Refrigerant hoses remain connected.
If refrigerant circuit is opened for another reason, it is better to repair magnetic clutch with air conditioner compressor removed. If the air conditioner compressor has to be removed, take the vehicle to a workshop with suitable equipment and specially trained mechanics because the refrigerant must be extracted using, for example,
air conditioning service station
VAS 6007A
.
The clearance must be redetermined after the
air conditioning system magnetic clutch
N25
has been installed.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
