.

Note:

The cable ties and adhesive strips must be reattached in their prior locations.

Remove adhesive strips -1- and -3-.
Cut open cable tie -2-.

Unscrew the nuts -1- and remove the washers.
Remove the folding table control unit -2-; note the inserted spacers.
Set the folding table control unit aside with the wiring still connected.

Release the upper guide rollers of both toothed belts -arrow-. The tooth belt is slackened thereby.

Unscrew the nuts -3- and -4- and remove the washers.
Remove bolts -1- and -2- and remove the washers and packing plates.

Swivel the drive motor with bracket out the folding table housing -arrows-.
Remove both toothed belts.

Measure dimension -a- for reinstallation of the left toothed belt pulley -1- (plan view).
Remove the left toothed belt pulley (plan view).

Loosen the grub screws in the adjustment rings -1- and -3-.
Loosen the grub screws in the crown wheel -2-.
Pull the drive shaft in direction of arrow until the crown wheel can be replaced.

Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:

Install the crown wheel -1- so that the grub screws engage in the holes -arrows- on the drive shaft.

Grease the bearings and splines of the crown wheel with multi-purpose grease.
Push the drive shaft into the installation position until the crown wheel contacts the bevel gear of the drive motor (press lightly).
Insert a 0.05 mm feeler gauge -arrow- between the adjustment ring -3- and the bearing bracket -4- and tighten the adjustment ring grub screw.
Repeat the procedure at adjustment ring -1- and bearing bracket -2-.

Insert the drive motor with bracket into the folding table housing,
while fitting both toothed belts onto the drive shaft.
Install nuts -3- and -4- with washers and tighten.
Install bolts -1- and -2- with washers and packing plates and tighten.
Fit the left toothed belt pulley (plan view) with the toothed belt installed, but do not yet tighten the grub screws.

Tension the left and right toothed belts by moving the sliding block -1- at the upper guide roller and tighten the hexagon socket-head bolts -2-.

Align the left toothed belt pulley -1- (plan view) in accordance with distance -a-, measured during removal and secure in place with at least 2 grub screws.

Install control unit for folding table motor -2- with spacers and washers, and tighten nuts -1-.

Attach the cable tie -2- and fabric-reinforced adhesive strips -1- and -3-, as shown in the illustration.
Electrically close the folding table at the seat and fold the table out and back in.
Check the function and parallel running of the table on the left and right.
If the table does not fold out parallel, loosen the grub screws at the right toothed belt pulley (plan view) and turn the toothed belt pulley as required.

Tighten all the grub screws at the right toothed belt pulley to final torque.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
