Removing
Observe or obtain radio code on vehicles with coded radio.
Disconnect earthing strap at battery with ignition switched off.
Detach cover from power steering fluid reservoir.
Remove connectors -1 ... 5- from retainer.
Unclip connector retainers from console of ABS unit and pull off towards top.
Remove toothed belt => Page

Loosen hose clamps of coolant hoses -1- and -2-.
Detach coolant hose -1- from top of radiator -arrow-.
Detach air duct hose -1-.
Note:
Connector -2- remains plugged in.
Unscrew alternator securing bolts.
Take off alternator.
Disconnect wiring from alternator after removal.
Remove tensioner for ribbed belt cover.
Unbolt the following supports and struts from retainer for alternator, vane pump and viscous fan:
Support for intake manifold
Support for torque reaction support retainer
Strut to cylinder block (remove complete)
Unscrew retainer for alternator, vane pump and viscous fan -Bolts 1 ... 6-.
Disconnect coolant hoses from coolant pump and thermostat housing.
Unbolt coolant pump housing from toothed belt guard -arrows-.
Remove coolant pump.
Note:
Coolant pump is bolted to retainer for alternator, vane pump and viscous fan.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order, when doing this note the following:
Clean sealing surfaces on cylinder block and coolant pump.
Replace new O-ring for coolant pump.
Insert hammer-head bolt in bore in coolant pump.
Attach retainer for alternator, vane pump and viscous fan with coolant pump to cylinder block and tighten bolts in number of sequence.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
