🧭 Before you start
Fits: Audi A6 C6 (4F, 2004–2011)
📋 Procedure
- Fill up engine coolant as specified in Engine, Mechanical Components19.
- Bleed engine coolant circuit as specified Engine, Mechanical Components19
- If necessary switch off the engine.
- Switch on ignition.
- Activate auxiliary heater (e.g. via MMI terminal) [Note: Auxiliary heater may not start depending on coolant temperature (may switch to control interval) .It is sufficient if auxiliary heater circulation pump V55 is running (if auxiliary heater is in the control interval because of coolant temperature).]
- Switch off ignition.
- If applicable, wait until the operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit J255 of the auxiliary heater is started up.
- Set maximum heat output on the operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit J255 for the driver's and passenger's side. [Note: Operating and display unit (Climatronic control unit J255) can actuate valves of pump/valve unit, depending upon set temperature (close, as heat output is no longer required). As, with valves closed, coolant can no longer flow through auxiliary heater, set maximum heat output (e.g. preselected temperature to "“Hi”") for driver's and front passenger's side on operating and display unit (Climatronic control unit J255)]
- Wait approx. 3 minutes (leave the auxiliary heater switched on).
- Start the engine again and leave it running for approx. 3 minutes with increased idle speed (e.g. 2300 rpm)
- Switch off auxiliary heater.
- Switch off engine.
- If necessary, fill up coolant according to Engine, Mechanical Components19

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
