📋 Procedure

Removing and installing seat occupied sensor, front passenger side
G128
WARNING
If the seat occupied sensor, front passenger side
G128 is renewed, the padding (front seat cushion) must also always be renewed!
Note
The seat occupied sensor, front passenger side
G128 is only installed in the front passenger seat.
The seat occupied sensor for front passenger side
G128 has no influence on whether the passenger airbag is triggered in the event of an accident.
The function of the front passenger seat occupied sensor
G128 is to remind passengers to wear their seat belt (seat belt command) by means of an optical and acoustic warning signal in the dash panel insert.
On the front passenger side, therefore, corrective activation of the request to fasten seat belt is carried out via the sensor which also evaluates occupancy of the seat and insertion of the seat belt into buckle.
On the driver side, only insertion of the seat belt into buckle is evaluated for corrective activation of the request to fasten the seat belt.
Removing
WARNING
Follow safety regulations for pyrotechnic components (see the separate procedure).
Before handling pyrotechnic components (e.g. separating the electrical connector), the person handling them must
“electrically discharge” himself/herself. To do this e.g. briefly touch the door striker plate.
Disconnect battery earth cable with ignition switched on (repair group 27: Battery; Connecting and disconnecting battery).

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.

Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
