Fits: platform codes A32, A33
Don't miss
- It must be ensured that the entire wiring harness (2) is taken straight through the seat padding and that there are no cable loops in the anchoring channel (3) after installation.
📋 Procedure
- ⚠ Observe safety precautions when working on seat occupied recognition . — Release locking element (1). Pull connector (4) off seat occupied recognition control unit J706(5).
- Pull lock (2) of locking element (3) upwards.
- Release locking element (3). Pull connector (6) off seat occupied recognition control unit J706(5). [Note: The connectors (4) and (6) attached to seat occupied recognition control unit J706(5) are fitted with seals. This prevents the ingress of moisture. To ensure that no leaks occur, avoid unnecessary detaching and attaching of the connectors. After the replacement of components, first route wiring harnesses correctly, then finally reconnect wiring harnesses to the control unit.]
- Mount seat repair standVAS 6136 on engine and gearbox supportVAS 6095.
- Remove front seat .

- Detach wiring harness (5) for pressure sensor for seat occupied recognition from seat frame.
- Remove seat padding together with pressure sensor for seat occupied recognition G452(2) from seat frame.
- ⚠ Removed components are to be separated from each other and disposed of separately from each other so that they are not accidentally re-installed.The further procedure only applies to this. — Remove wiring harness (2) of sensor (3) from anchoring channel and guide out through seat padding (1).
- Detach pressure sensor for seat occupied recognition G452(1) from seat padding (2) in (direction of arrow B), beginning in (direction of arrow A).
- Remove pressure sensor for seat occupied recognition G452(1) from seat padding (2). [Note: The pressure sensor for seat occupied recognition G452 must be positioned without kinks. After seat occupied recognition has been renewed, vehicle diagnosis, testing and information systemVAS 5051B must be used in "“Guided fault finding”" mode to initiate basic setting of occupant classification system .In vehicles with seat heater, it must be ensured that the heating element is always installed under the pressure sensor for seat occupied recognition G452. If this is not done, serious functional impairments of the pressure sensor for seat occupied recognition will occur.]
- ⚠ Resetting must be carried out with seat unoccupied. — Guide wiring harness (2) through opening in seat padding (3) and attach in anchoring channel (3). [Note: It must be ensured that the entire wiring harness (2) is taken straight through the seat padding and that there are no cable loops in the anchoring channel (3) after installation.]
- Place pressure sensor for seat occupied recognition G452(5) on seat padding.
- Align pressure sensor for seat occupied recognition G452(5) on seat padding so that positioning aids (1) and (4) align with each other.
- Remove protective film (5) of position sticker at side (4) and affix pressure sensor for seat occupied recognition (1) to padding (6), applying slight pressure and avoiding kinks.
- Remove protective film (2) of position sticker at side (3) and affix pressure sensor for seat occupied recognition to padding (6), applying slight pressure and avoiding kinks.
- Remove protective film (7) of position sticker at front (8) and affix pressure sensor for seat occupied recognition to padding (6), applying slight pressure and avoiding kinks.
- Route wiring harness of pressure sensor for seat occupied recognition (4) along seat frame (3) as shown and fix in place.
- Connect connector (1) of wiring harness (4) to seat occupied recognition control unit J706(2). [Note: The connectors on the seat occupied recognition control unit J706 are sealed. This prevents the ingress of moisture. To ensure that no leaks occur, avoid unnecessary detaching and attaching of the connectors. After the replacement of components, first route wiring harnesses correctly, then finally reconnect wiring harnesses to the control unit.] [Note: Further assembly is performed in reverse order of removal.]
- ⚠ Ensure that nobody is in vehicle when vehicle battery is reconnected. — Connect vehicle battery Electrical system27Battery; Disconnecting and connecting battery.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
