Removing and installing mounting bracket, Eos — VW
Removing and installing mounting bracket, Eos on VW: 21 steps. What to remove, in what order, and what to check after.
Removing the pedal mounting bracket on the Eos (platform code 1F7). The bracket carries the clutch master cylinder, so the clutch hydraulics have to be opened. Check for a coded radio and get the code before the battery is removed. The supply hose to the master cylinder is clamped with 3094 or sealed with T10249/1, the pressure line clip released and the clutch position sender G476 unclipped with its connector still on. In the footwell, the trim and lower cover come off, followed by the crash bar. The bracket is held by securing nuts on the bulkhead studs. Brake fluid is the main nuisance: keep it off the longitudinal member and gearbox and have a lint-free cloth underneath. Self-locking nuts and hose clips are renewed and the clutch is bled.
🧭 Before you start
Obtain the radio code, remove the battery, clamp the supply hose and disconnect the master cylinder lines and position sender. Remove the footwell trim and crash bar, undo the bracket nuts and take the bracket out. Refit with new self-locking nuts, torque the crash bar bolts, reconnect the line until the clip engages, bleed the clutch and refit the battery.
Fits: platform code 1F7
- Opens: brake fluid, clutch fluid
- Renewed: self-locking nuts, hose clips
Don't miss
- Renew the self-locking nuts and the hose clips.
- Push the pressure line on until the securing clip engages audibly, then tug-test it.
- Keep brake fluid off the longitudinal member and gearbox; clean thoroughly if it lands there.
- Bleed the clutch system after reconnecting the lines.
- Get the radio anti-theft code before disconnecting the battery.

📋 Procedure
- First check whether a coded radio is fitted. If so, obtain anti-theft code.
- Remove battery and, if necessary, detach back wall of battery box Electrical system27Removing and installing battery. [Note: During the following work, ensure that no brake fluid lands on longitudinal member or gearbox. If this does happen, clean the affected areas thoroughly.Place a lint-free cloth under the master cylinder.]
- Clamp off supply hose to master cylinder using hose clamp3094.
- It may also be sealed with sealing tool T10249/1.
- Pull supply hose 3 off master cylinder.
- Release securing clip (2) using screwdriver or a pointed object and pull pipe/hose line (1) off master cylinder.
- Unclip clutch position sender G476 from master cylinder (arrow) and remove with electrical connector attached (4). [Note: When performing work in the footwell, put cloths on the carpet to protect it from possible brake fluid spills.]

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
