12 steps

🧭 Before you start

Fits: VW Polo 6C (2014–2017)

Don't miss

  • Take note of narrower tooth on each lever segment and the resulting larger gap between the teeth at this position.
  • If gear wheels and levers are not aligned as prescribed, the control motor will lock up as soon as a wide tooth attempts to mesh with a narrow tooth.
  • If the gear wheels and levers are not aligned, the control motors will lock up, or the heater and air conditioning unit will be noisy as the flaps will not close correctly.

📋 Procedure

  1. Remove heater and air conditioning unit (see the separate procedure).
  2. Remove distribution box from heater and air conditioning unit.
  3. Pull connectors (A) and (B) off control motors.
  4. Release catches (C) and (D).
  5. Pull bracket with control motors out of mountings (E).

  1. Position control motor gear wheels (C) and (E) as illustrated.
  2. Use adapter cable (A) for this purpose (see the separate procedure).
  3. Position levers (A) (defroster flap) and (B) (temperature flap) on air distribution housing as illustrated. [Note: Take note of narrower tooth on each lever segment and the resulting larger gap between the teeth at this position.]
  4. Insert control motor bracket into mounting (E).
  5. Join defroster flap control motor V107(B) with lever (A) and temperature flap control motor V68(D) with lever (C). Ensure gear wheels are properly aligned with levers. [Note: If gear wheels and levers are not aligned as prescribed, the control motor will lock up as soon as a wide tooth attempts to mesh with a narrow tooth.]
  6. Engage bracket on air distribution housing (C) and (D).
  7. Check function of control motors. Connect 12 V source to contacts (4) and (6) using adapter cable (A) for control motors and check function of control motors. Check each control motor individually! [Note: If the gear wheels and levers are not aligned, the control motors will lock up, or the heater and air conditioning unit will be noisy as the flaps will not close correctly.]

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
