  1. Remove front and rear engine cover panel 10.
  2. Remove nuts and bolts (arrows) for refrigerant line retainers. [Note: The bolts for the refrigerant line retainers must be removed so that the refrigerant lines can be pressed slightly to the side without being damaged when the engine support bracket is set up.] [Note: The removal of the left engine support is mentioned in this workshop manually only in general terms. When removing the left engine support, always refer to the appropriate workshop manual 10.]
  3. Set up support bracket10-222 A with adapters10-222 A/22 and connectors T40091/3 on bolting flanges of wings.
  4. Set up other parts of support bracket10-222 A as shown in figure, setting supports10-222 A/19 on seams of longitudinal members (observe refrigerant lines on longitudinal member).
  5. Attach hook of short spindle10-222 A/10 to rear left engine lifting eye.
  6. Push support T40091/2 with slider T40093/5 into the two connectors T40093/4.
  7. Attach long spindle from support bracket10-222 A and attach hook to front left engine lifting eye.
  8. ⚠ Secure support T40091/2 with pins and split pins of connector T40093/4. — Take up weight of engine by evenly tightening the two spindles.
  9. Remove coolant hose (arrows).
  10. Unscrew nuts and bolts (1) to (5), and remove left engine support "“Engine, mechanics”"10.
  11. Disconnect connectors to coolant temperature sender G454(1).
  12. Remove both refrigerant lines (2) and (3) from air conditioner compressor. [Note: Seal open lines and connections on condenser with appropriate sealing caps against intrusion of dirt and moisture. To avoid damage to the refrigerant lines and hoses, ensure that the lines and hoses are not stretched, pinched or bent.]
  13. Counterhold input shaft of air conditioner compressor (A) with an open-end wrench, and turn drive unit of air conditioner compressor (B) in direction of arrow (C). [Note: The input shaft (A) must not be turned. After the threaded connection has been loosened, the input shaft (A) can be pushed through the boot (E) into the input gear.]
  14. Mark the 2-pin connector (1) for air conditioner compressor regulating valve N280 (risk of interchanging with connector to engine mounting).
  15. Separate 2-pin connector (1) to air conditioner compressor regulating valve N280.
  16. Remove the three bolts (arrows) (torque specification: 25 Nm). — 25 Nm (18 lb-ft)
  17. Remove air conditioner compressor forwards.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
