📋 Procedure

  1. ⚠ Wheel bearings must not be subjected to load after bolt securing drive shaft to wheel hub has been loosened. If wheel bearings are loaded with weight of vehicle, bearing will be damaged. This reduces the service life of the wheel bearing. It is not permissible to loosen the twelve point nut by more than 90° when vehicle is resting on wheels.Do not attempt to move the vehicle without the drive shafts fitted as this would damage the wheel bearing. If a vehicle nevertheless has to be moved, comply with the following:Install an outer joint instead of the drive shaft.Tighten outer joint to 150 Nm. — Loosen twelve point nut when vehicle is still standing on its wheels. — 150 Nm (111 lb-ft)
  2. Loosen with socket 32 mm T10209 only by a maximum of 90°, otherwise the wheel bearing will be damaged.
  3. Activate car jacking mode and place vehicle on lifting platform .
  4. Raise vehicle so that wheels are off the ground.
  5. Have second mechanic apply brakes.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
