Installing bevel box, CC 2012 ►, Passat 2011 ►, with diesel engine — VW

🧭 Before you start

Fits: VW CC (358, 2012–2017), VW Passat B7 saloon (362, 2010–2014), VW Passat B7 Variant (365, 2010–2014)

Don't miss

• Before installing, lightly grease stub shaft splines on differential of gearbox with clutch plate spline greaseG 000 100.
• Do not use securing bolts to pull bevel box onto gearbox, or bevel box will cant and bolt holes can break off.

📋 Procedure

1. Before installing, lightly grease stub shaft splines on differential of gearbox with clutch plate spline greaseG 000 100.
2. Push bevel box completely onto gearbox, ensuring that splines of bevel box input shaft and differential are centred when brought together.
3. If splines are correctly positioned and shafts are centred, then bevel box will slide to stop against gearbox. [Note: Do not use securing bolts to pull bevel box onto gearbox, or bevel box will cant and bolt holes can break off.]
4. Screw in upper and lower securing bolts (arrows) for joining bevel box to gearbox. Specified torque: .
5. Bolt bevel box carrier to engine and bevel box, observing tightening sequence of bolts (A) and (B).

6. Install support for turbocharger (arrow)21Turbocharger; Removing and installing turbocharger.
7. Drive in right flange shaft carefully, turning flange shaft as you do so, in order to avoid damaging bearings.
8. Secure flange shaft with new countersunk bolt. Specified torque
9. Bolt on intermediate flange (arrows). Specified torque: .

15. Checking gear oil in bevel box .
