📋 Procedure

Checking SERTO adapter leads for leaks
Special tools and workshop equipment required
Magnetic release tool
T10349
Gas leak tester for natural gas vehicles
VAS 6227
Adapter for gas leak detector
VAS 6227/1
Leak detector spray
(commercially available)
Leakage test of SERTO adapter leads is necessary following removal of following components:
Adapter leads to fuel tank
Solenoid valve
Safety valve
Fill-stop valve
Gas gauge sender
G707
Note
When the cover, the lines or the valve are removed, leaks may occur in the corresponding area.
The leakage test of the SERTO adapter leads does not replace the gas system test (GAP).
Following the leakage test of the SERTO adapter leads, as well as upon completion of any work on the gas system, the gas system test (GAP) must be performed.
When working on the autogas system, always ensure for tidiness and cleanliness.
DANGER!
Gas system tests must only be performed by specially trained personnel trained at regular intervals.
Autogas is highly inflammable and, in combination with air, creates a combustible mixture.
There must be no open flame or source of ignition near the autogas system.
Inhaling autogas can lead to light-headedness and lung damage. High concentrations may lead to suffocation due to lack of oxygen.
Autogas is not odourless because substances having a strong odour are added.
Test precondition
Fuel tank is 50 % full (legislation)
All parts of autogas system to be checked are easily accessible
No entries in event memory of autogas control unit
Working environment free of draught

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.

Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
