ℹ️ Always cross-check the exact figure against your vehicle's factory manual before final tightening — a wrong torque can damage the engine. These values are extracted from workshop data and may not cover every variant or revision.

📋 Procedure

  1. ⚠ The injection system consists of a high-pressure section (maximum approx. 120 bar) and a low-pressure section (approx. 6 bar).Prior to opening the high-pressure area, e.g. when removing the high-pressure pump, fuel rail, injectors, a fuel line, or the fuel pressure sender G247, the fuel pressure in the high-pressure area must be reduced to a residual pressure of approx. 6 bar. The appropriate procedure is described in the chapter on releasing pressure in the high-pressure section . — Remove engine cover panel.
  2. Release vacuum hose on vacuum reservoir (arrow) and pull it off.
  3. Lift engine cover panel at points (1) and pull it forwards in direction of (arrow).
  4. Pull vacuum hose off (arrow).
  5. Lift engine cover panel at points (1) and pull it forwards in direction of (arrow).

  1. Remove air filter .
  2. Remove fuel pressure sender G247(1).
  3. Instead of fuel pressure sender G247, screw in adapterVAS 6394/2 and tighten to 22 Nm. — 22 Nm (16 lb-ft)
  4. Open cover (2) of digital pressure gaugeVAS 6394/1 and tighten fuel pressure sender G247 to digital pressure gauge to 22 Nm. — 22 Nm (16 lb-ft)
  5. Screw pressure line (1) of digital pressure gaugeVAS 6394/1 hand-tight to adapterVAS 6394/2.
  6. Connect test adapterVAS 5570 between fuel pressure sender G247(1) and connector.
  7. Connect vehicle diagnostic tester(1) as follows:
  8. Push diagnostic cable connector (2) onto diagnostic connection in driver footwell.
  9. Switch on ignition.
  10. Press following keys on display in succession:
  11. There, enter 248 and acknowledge with Q.
  12. Switch on digital pressure gaugeVAS 6394/1 by pressing key (A) briefly once. [Note: When button (A) is pressed for 2 seconds, the illumination will be switched on for 20 seconds.]
  13. Start engine.
  14. Compare pressure displayed by digital pressure gaugeVAS 6394/1 with actual value of vehicle diagnostic tester. [Note: When the engine is idling and the electrical connector is pulled off the fuel pressure regulating valve N276 the pressure in the high-pressure area will drop to approx. 6 bar.Once the high-pressure in the high-pressure area is reduced, open the system immediately as the pressure will rise again due to warming.]
  15. ⚠ Digital pressure gaugeVAS 6394/1 is subject to high fuel pressure! With engine running, pull connector off fuel pressure regulating valve N276. This reduces fuel pressure to approx. 6 bar. Switch off ignition. Place a cleaning cloth around fuel pressure sender G247, then reduce residual pressure by carefully loosening fuel pressure sender G247. — Renew fuel pressure sender G247 and again compare both measured values.
  16. Check wiring .
  17. Further testing is carried out with "“Guided Fault Finding”".

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
