Checking delivery pressure of fuel system pressurisation pump G6, engine code CFHC — VW
Checking delivery pressure of fuel system pressurisation pump G6, engine code CFHC on VW: 21 steps, engines CFHC.
Checking the delivery pressure of fuel system pressurisation pump G6 on the Golf VI Cabriolet (517) with the CFHC diesel engine. There are two test points. At the engine, the cover panel comes off and the black (or black-marked) fuel supply line is separated so the pressure tester can be connected between its open ends. At the tank, the rear bench seat is removed, the carpet folded back and the flange cover unclipped to reach the same line at the fuel delivery unit. In both cases the engine idles and one shut-off valve is closed for a maximum of 15 seconds while the reading is taken; the specification is at least 0.5 bar. Take care with the engine cover panel, as its bracket on the cylinder head cover can break if pulled off the wrong way.
🧭 Before you start
Remove the engine cover panel in the sequence shown, separate the black fuel supply line and connect the pressure tester with its two lines. Set the taps, start the engine and close valve B for no more than 15 seconds while reading the pressure. If needed, repeat the test at the fuel delivery unit under the rear seat. A delivery pressure that drops means renewing the fuel delivery unit; running problems call for a new fuel filter.
Fits: VW Golf Cabriolet (517, 2011–2016)
- Special tools named: VAS 6551/1, VAS 6551/2
- Renewed: fuel delivery unit
Don't miss
- Pull the engine cover panel off in the sequence shown; the bracket on the cylinder head cover can break.
- Close or open valve B for no more than 15 seconds while taking the reading.
- Delivery pressure specification is at least 0.5 bar; a temporary drop means a new fuel delivery unit.
- Pull on every push-fit coupling after reconnecting to confirm it is secured.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
