🧭 Before you start
Fits: VW Phaeton (3D)
Don't miss
- Ensure that gas pressure does not exceed 4.5 bar during charging.
📋 Procedure
- Remove packing cover.
- Remove retaining screw (arrow) from residual pressure holding valve. Figure shows front air suspension strut.
- Connect pressure valve of steel gas bottle.
- Familiarise yourself with the relevant safety instructions for the use of pressurised containers and industrial gases.
- Connect air suspension strut charger unitVAS 6231 and adapter T10157 as shown in figure.
- Set the flow rate limiter on the fitting to 2.0l/min (arrow).
- Now charge air suspension strut with gas, using several separate bursts of pressure.
- Ensure that gas pressure does not exceed 4.5 bar during charging.
- Disconnect air strut charger unitVAS 6231 from adapter T10157. When doing this, excess gas above an inner pressure of 3.5 bar will be released.
- After installation, move to high level first, then to normal level. Repeat this procedure.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
