Adapting fuel cut-off valve control unit to immobilizer control unit — VW

The fuel cut-off valve control unit as supplied always switches the fuel cut-off valve on, even without influence from the immobilizer control unit.

To ensure correct functioning of the immobilizer, the fuel shut-off valve control unit must be matched to the immobilizer control unit with fault reader V.A.G 1551, V.A.G 1552 or Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051.

The self-diagnosis connection is located in centre of dash panel above ashtray.

Fold storage compartment below left-hand side of dash panel down.
With ignition switched off, connect fault reader V.A.G 1551 using diagnosis cable V.A.G 1551/3.

Notes:

If the display remains blank, check V.A.G 1551 voltage supply according to current flow diagram.
Additional operating instructions can be called up with the fault reader HELP key.
