🧭 Before you start

Fits: Audi A3 (8P, 2003–2012)

  • Renewed: tandem pump gaskets

Don't miss

  • Disconnect fuel return hose (1) (blue marking) from fuel pipe.

  • Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) Electronic parts catalogue.Renew tandem pump gaskets.Ensure proper seating of tandem pump actuator in camshaft.

🔩 Torque settings

Values can differ between engine variants — check the code stamped on your block.

TorqueFastener / step
10 Nm (7.4 lb-ft)Tighten bottom securing bolts
20 Nm (15 lb-ft)Install tandem pump and tighten top securing bolts

ℹ️ Always cross-check the exact figure against your vehicle's factory manual before final tightening — a wrong torque can damage the engine. These values are extracted from workshop data and may not cover every variant or revision.

  2. Detach vent hose (3) and air hose (2).
  3. Unscrew bolt (4) and remove air cleaner housing.
  4. ⚠ The fuel system is pressurised. Wrap a cloth around the connection before opening the system. Then release pressure by carefully loosening the connection. In extreme cases the temperature of the fuel lines and the fuel can be up to 100 °C after the engine is switched off. Allow the fuel to cool down before disconnecting the lines - danger of scalding.Wear protective gloves.Wear safety goggles. — Disconnect fuel supply hose (2) from tandem pump.

  9. Detach vacuum hose (arrow) going to brake servo at tandem pump.
  10. Remove bolts (arrows).
  11. Remove tandem pump from cylinder head. [Note: Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) Electronic parts catalogue.Renew tandem pump gaskets.Ensure proper seating of tandem pump actuator in camshaft.]
  12. Install tandem pump and tighten top securing bolts to 20 Nm. — 20 Nm (15 lb-ft)
  13. Tighten bottom securing bolts to 10 Nm. — 10 Nm (7.4 lb-ft)

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.

Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
