  • Attach counterhold tool3067 before loosening bolts.
  • The position of the adjuster ring can be outside the notches on used clutches.
  • Reverse position of counterhold tool3067 when installing.

📋 Procedure

  1. Attach counterhold tool3067 before loosening bolts.
  2. Consecutively loosen all 6 bolts in clockwise direction in 90° stages until the clutch pressure plate is released.
  3. Take off clutch pressure plate and clutch plate. [Note: When performing repairs always match up clutch pressure plate and clutch plate by checking engine code Electronic parts catalogue.Clean input shaft splines and hub splines on used clutch plates, remove corrosion and apply an extremely thin coat of clutch plate greaseG 000 100 to the splines. Then move clutch plate backwards and forwards on input shaft until hub moves freely on shaft. It is important to remove excess grease.Clutch pressure plates have an anti-corrosion coating and are greased. With the exception of the friction surface for the clutch plate, the clutch pressure plate must not be cleaned. Otherwise, the service life of the clutch will be considerably reduced. The friction surface of the clutch pressure plate and the flywheel must be cleaned (degreased) thoroughly. If the clutch has burnt out, thoroughly clean the gearbox housing in area of clutch and parts of the engine facing the gearbox in order to prevent odours.Blow off flywheel with compressed air only.Clutch plate linings must make full contact with flywheel and friction surface of clutch pressure plate. Only then insert bolts.Check that dowel sleeves for centralising engine/gearbox are in the cylinder block, install if necessary. If the dowel sleeves are not fitted, this will lead to gear-change problems, clutch malfunction and in some cases gearbox noise (gears will make rattling noises).]
  4. Check that riveting (arrows B) is secure at all springs (arrows A).
  5. Check spring connections (arrows A) for damage and make sure rivet fastenings (arrows B) are seated tightly. [Note: The position of the adjuster ring can be outside the notches on used clutches.]

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
