Removing and installing front parking aid sender G252/G253/G254/G255 - Audi A5 (vehicles from model year 2012 onwards, USA vehicles from model year 2013 onwards) — AUDI
Removing and installing front parking aid sender G252/G253/G254/G255 - Audi A5 (vehicles from model year 2012 onwards, USA vehicles from model year 2013.
Front parking aid senders G252 to G255 on the Audi A5 (platform code 8T, 2007–2016), here for vehicles from model year 2012 and USA vehicles from 2013, sit in the bumper and are held by a retainer with two tabs. The outer senders are reached by removing the front wheel housing liner; the inner ones by removing the lock carrier cover and reaching through the radiator grille openings behind the mountings. In both cases the tabs are spread apart and the sender is pressed out from outside to inside, then unplugged. The job is quick; what matters is spreading both tabs together and pressing the sender out squarely, then making sure the tabs snap back when the new one goes in.
🧭 Before you start
For the outer senders, remove the front wheel housing liner, spread the retaining tabs, press the sender inwards and unplug it. For the inner senders, remove the lock carrier cover, reach through the grille openings, spread the tabs and press the sender out, then unplug. Fit the new senders until the tabs engage, reconnect, then refit the liner and the lock carrier cover.
Fits: Audi A5 (8T, 2007–2016)
Don't miss
- Spread both retaining tabs at the same time before pressing the sender out.
- Push the sender from outside to inside; prying from behind damages the retainer.
- Make sure each connector clicks home before refitting the liner or cover.
- Check the parking aid operates on all sensors before handing the car back, as general practice.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
