Removing and installing front brake hoses — AUDI

Removing and installing front brake hoses on Audi: 11 steps. What to remove, in what order, and what to check after.

Renewing a front brake hose on the vehicles with the platform codes listed below (2K0, 2C0). It is a short job, but the hydraulic system is opened, so it ends with bleeding. With the wheel off, a bleed bottle goes on the caliper bleed valve, the valve is opened, the pedal depressor is applied and the valve closed again; that keeps the master cylinder from emptying through the open union. The hose comes off the caliper at its bolt, then off the rigid brake line, and finally the clip is pulled so it can be slid out of its brackets. The point that catches people: the new hose must go in without twist, held by its clip, or it will rub and fail.

11 steps

🧭 Before you start

Remove the wheel, fit the bleed bottle, open the bleed valve, apply the pedal depressor and close the valve. Release the hose bolt at the caliper and the union at the brake line, pull the clip and remove the hose from its brackets. Fit the new hose in reverse order with the clip preventing twist, remove the depressor, bleed the brakes and refit the wheel.

Fits: VW Caddy III (2K, 2004–2015); platform code 2C0

  • Opens: brake fluid

Don't miss

  • Apply the brake pedal depressor before opening the hose unions.
  • Secure the new hose with its clip so it cannot twist.
  • Bleed the brake system before the car is moved.
  • General practice: renew sealing washers on the caliper connection and check the hose clears suspension at full lock.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
