Workshop procedure for AUDI — the factory write-up, straight from real workshop data.
📋 Procedure
Removing and installing
air recirculation flap control motor
V113
- manually controlled air conditioner (or heater without air conditioner)
Note
The colour coding of the connecting element on the control motor is being gradually discontinued from 10.2013 onwards (for both the factory-fitted connecting elements and the replacement connecting elements). In addition, the replacement connecting elements for the control motors are no longer pre-assembled

and

.
The control motors and the corresponding connecting elements are different. However, in some cases the differences are so small that they cannot always be identified at first glance. If a version other than the intended control motor or connecting element is installed, this usually leads to problems which only show up during the subsequent basic setting

and
Vehicle diagnostic tester
(Guided Fault Finding).
Caution
Problems occur with the operation of the air conditioner (heater) if incorrect component versions have been installed.
The different control motor versions can only be distinguished from the outside by their part numbers.
The connecting elements are sometimes very similar and cannot be distinguished at first glance.
Where possible, only remove a control motor once the new component and the corresponding connecting element are available for installation.
Prior to installation, check carefully to ensure that the correct control motor and the correct connecting element allocated to it are being installed.
If possible, only dispose of the removed components once you have checked that the newly installed components function correctly.

Installing
Install in reverse order of removal; note the following:
If there are problems due to moisture in the passenger compartment, also check the air recirculation flap (must close completely).
The mounting for the control motor can only be attached to the shaft in the
“air recirculation flap open”
position.
Prise connecting element (in this case: gear wheel
A
) out of the control motor that is being renewed (or select connecting element from set of connecting elements) and install it in the new control motor that is being installed
Chapter
.
The gear wheel
A
must make contact with the stop

as shown.
Note
If the gear wheel does not make contact with the stop, the mounting for the control motor must be turned. Observe general notes

.
Position control motor on air intake box with air recirculation flap open. The shaft of the air recirculation flap must engage in the mounting.

There must not be any play in the connection between the control motor and shaft.
Position bracket on air intake box; guide must engage in mounting.
Tabs on bracket must engage audibly at air intake box.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
