.
At present, the
“air recirculation mode”
function is cancelled automatically after switching the ignition on again.
If operation of fresh air/air recirculation flap is OK and windows mist up, check the following:
Dust and pollen filter for contamination
Chapter
Forced ventilation vents for passenger compartment
Chapter
Ingress of water into passenger compartment
Chapter
Fresh-air intake from plenum chamber and plenum chamber water drain
Chapter
Seals between individual components of fresh air intake and vehicle for damage and leaks
Activation of
air conditioner compressor regulating valve
N280
and operation of air conditioner
Chapter
“
Checking cooling output
”
Note
Under certain operating conditions, residual moisture in the refrigerant circuit may lead to the formation of ice at
N280
(and at the expansion valve). Such ice formation impedes the control of the air conditioner compressor. The evaporator is cooled down too much and ices up. Icing-up of the evaporator may be the cause of the windows misting up.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
