🧭 Before you start
Fits: Audi A8 D4 (4H, 2010–2017)
- Renewed: seal
Don't miss
- Ignition onRelease parking brake.Coding checked and rectified if necessaryEvent memory interrogated, displayed faults rectified and event memory erasedIgnition off.
- After switching off the ignition, wait for at least 30 seconds before unplugging the connector.Clean whole area around connector and actuator motor/ brake caliper.
- Take care not to damage the annular groove of the seal and the contact surface of the actuator motor.
- This makes it easier to install the actuator motor.
- Ensure that seal is fitted correctly.
📋 Procedure
- Connect up . [Note: Ignition onRelease parking brake.Coding checked and rectified if necessaryEvent memory interrogated, displayed faults rectified and event memory erasedIgnition off.]
- Position vehicle on lifting platform .
- Remove wheels. [Note: After switching off the ignition, wait for at least 30 seconds before unplugging the connector.Clean whole area around connector and actuator motor/ brake caliper.]
- Unplug electrical connection for actuator motor.
- Pull connector out of retainer.
- Unscrew both actuator motor bolts.
- Remove actuator motor.
- Remove seal using removal wedge3409. [Note: Take care not to damage the annular groove of the seal and the contact surface of the actuator motor.]
- If necessary clean annular groove and contact surfaces. Use only brake cleaner.
- Fit new seal.
- If necessary, turn back adjusting screw in brake caliper slightly using Torx bit (1) to facilitate installation of actuator motor. [Note: This makes it easier to install the actuator motor.]
- Fit motor as shown (arrow 1). [Note: Ensure that seal is fitted correctly.]
- Turn motor (arrow 2) to align bolt hole (a) with thread in brake caliper housing (b). [Note: Make sure the motor makes flush contact with the brake housing.]
- Screw in and tighten actuator motor bolts.
- Insert electrical connector for actuator motor in retainer. [Note: To avoid any damage to connector only fit it by hand.]
- Plug in electrical connector for actuator motor.
- Fit wheels Audi A8 2010 ► Running gear, front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive44Tightening torque for wheel bolts.
- Connect up . [Note: Switch on ignition Parking brake releasedCoding checked and rectified if necessaryEvent memory interrogated, displayed faults rectified and event memory erased.]
- Start the corresponding routine in the Guided Functions. [Note: Make sure that the brakes work properly before the vehicle is driven on the road.]

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
