📋 Procedure
- Connect tank leak tester (Audi R8)VAS 6615A to compressed air (6 ... 10 bar) (item 1).
- Open cut-off valve (2) (handle should point in direction of flow).
- Read off value indicated on display of tester:
- Close adapter cut-off valve (handle should point perpendicular to direction of flow). [Note: If specified values are obtained, VAS 6615A is OK and check can be performed. If specified values are not obtained, VAS 6615A is defective and must be renewed.]
- ⚠ If value displayed on VAS 6615A exceeds 200 mbar during the function check or during the subsequent pressure test, the device is defective and must be disconnected from the compressed-air connection immediately. — Remove engine cover panel (left-side) 10Engine cover panel; Removing and installing engine cover panel.
- Press release tabs and detach breather hose (2) leading to fuel tank from connection (1) for activated charcoal filter.
- Fit adapterVAS 6615A/2 to connection for activated charcoal filter and connect to tank leak tester (Audi R8)VAS 6615A.
- Close adapter cut-off valve (5) (handle should point perpendicular to direction of flow).
- Open cut-off valve (4) (handle should point in direction of flow).
- After waiting approx. 5 minutes, check pressure in fuel tank; to do so, close cut-off valve (4) (handle should be perpendicular to direction of flow).
- Read off value indicated on display of tester:
- After waiting approx. 2 minutes, check pressure in fuel tank again; to do so, read off value displayed on tester:
- If specification is not attained, use leak-detecting spray to locate leak and seal off. Repeat leak test.
- If specification is attained, open cut-off valve (5) to divert remaining pressure in fuel system to activated charcoal filter.
- Disconnect tank leak tester (Audi R8)VAS 6615A from compressed-air connection and remove from fuel tank.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
