Adjusting windscreen wiper park position — AUDI
Adjusting windscreen wiper park position on Audi: 7 steps, 1 torque figure. What to remove, what to tighten and to how many Nm, what to check after.
Setting the windscreen wiper park position on the VW Caddy III (2K) and the related 2C platform is a short adjustment, but it has to be done in the right state. The APP function, which alternates the park position, is deactivated first, the wipers are run to park, then the ignition and all loads are switched off and the key removed so the motor sits at its true rest point. The wiper arm is positioned on the motor shaft and the securing bolt tightened to 20 Nm, with a second check and re-tighten if the position needs correcting. The things that decide the result are disabling APP before you start and checking the arm position again after tightening, as the arm can creep on the spline while the bolt is drawn up.
🧭 Before you start
Deactivate the APP function, park the wipers, switch off the ignition and all electrical loads and remove the key. Set the wiper arm to the park position on the motor shaft and tighten the bolt to 20 Nm. Check the position, correct it if necessary and tighten again to 20 Nm.
Fits: VW Caddy III (2K, 2004–2015); platform code 2C0
Don't miss
- Deactivate the APP function before adjusting, then reactivate it afterwards.
- Park the wipers, then switch off ignition and all loads and remove the key.
- Wiper arm securing bolt is tightened to 20 Nm.
- Recheck the arm position after tightening; the arm can shift while the bolt is drawn up.
- Run the wipers wet and check neither arm hits the windscreen trim (general practice).

🔩 Torque settings
Values can differ between engine variants — check the code stamped on your block.
| Torque | Fastener / step |
|---|---|
| 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) | Tighten bolt for securing wiper arm to shaft of wiper motor |
ℹ️ Always cross-check the exact figure against your vehicle's factory manual before final tightening — a wrong torque can damage the engine. These values are extracted from workshop data and may not cover every variant or revision.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
