📋 Procedure

ℹ️ Torque figures below come verbatim from workshop data — always cross-check against your vehicle's factory manual before final tightening.

After replacing brake pads, depress brake pedal firmly several times with vehicle stationary so that the brake pads are properly seated in their normal operating position.
To draw off brake fluid from the reservoir, use a bleeder bottle which is used only for brake fluid. Brake fluid is poisonous and must on no account be sucked out by mouth using a hose!

Fit bridge with the multiple tooth socket head bolts and tighten.
Insert plate -1- (50 x 24 x 2 mm locally manufactured) between face of brake disc and lower side of bridge. This ensures sufficient clearance between bridge and brake disc.
Press brake caliper housing/bridge against the plate and tighten guide pins hexagon nuts.
Remove plate and ensure brake disc has sufficient clearance.

First tighten leading side guide pins.
Counter-hold at guide pins with an open jaw spanner, grind to fit if necessary.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
