📋 Procedure

Notes:

Fresh air is drawn into the ventilation chamber via the front panel and is routed to the outlets by means of flaps.
The warm air blower mounted on the alternator draws in warm air from the ducts behind the corner fittings on the left-hand and right-hand sides via the rear cross member. It is routed to the heater flaps and to the warm air distributor via the heat exchanger.
Instructions on how to repair the warm air blower can be found in the Workshop Manual for the Transporter in the section dealing with the electrical system, and instructions on how to repair the heat exchanger and heater flaps are in the section of the Transporter Workshop Manual on the engine.
Ventilation chamber and warm air distributor for driver`s cab do not have a fresh air blower.
Vehicles with air-cooled engines and fresh air blowers have the same heating and ventilation systems as vehicles with water-cooled engines without heat exchangers =>Page

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.

Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
