Fuel supply to auxiliary heater (see the separate procedure).
It is possible that the metering pump ticks audibly but still does not deliver fuel because there is air in the intake pipe. The control unit will then switch itself off permanently. You should therefore read out the event memory using vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system
VAS 5051B or later models (self-diagnosis of the Thermo Top Z auxiliary heater). Delete the event memory and carry out a final control diagnosis of the Thermo Top Z auxiliary heater. (see the separate procedure) “Removing and installing metering pump

Note
The most important technical data are shown on upper part of manufacturer's plate.
The date of first use is entered on the lower part of manufacturer's plate.
The year the unit was first put into use must be entered on the
“Genuine part” manufacturer's plate. The heat exchanger of the coolant heater does not need to be renewed after 10 years. Legislation in Germany dictates only that air heaters must be renewed.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
