📋 Procedure
What is an exchange component (EX component)
An EX component -arrow- is a favourably priced repair set. It includes all the clutches and brakes, the ATF pump and the valve body for the respective gearbox.
A description of the EX component and the measurement procedures for adjusting the clutch play is found in the
VW/Audi TV programme No. 42, API technology direct from 28.02.1998.
This programme can be ordered using the order number: 042.5124.67.01 from Hotline ++49 5423 94 34 44.
Which parts comprise the EX component is described as of =>
00-24
.
Not included are the O-rings for: ATF cooler and ATF filler tube, multi-function switch -F125-, senders -G68- and -G38-.
If these rings are required they must be ordered additionally.
The oil pan gasket and the intermediate cover gasket must be ordered separately.
The valve body conductor foil must be ordered separately if required.
How is the EX component obtained?
The EX component is allocated according to the gearbox code letters and can (as every genuine part) be obtained from: "Parts division".
Adjustments
Only the clutch play must be adjusted when installing an EX component.
How this is carried out is described in the work sequence in this repair manual.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
