Removing
Loosen front right wheel bolts.
Raise vehicle.
Remove right wheel.
Remove any noise insulation
General body repairs, exterior

Noise insulation

If fitted, remove noise insulation for right drive shaft from wheel housing.
Separate threaded connection between wheel bearing housing and lower swivel joint
Running gear, axles, steering

Subframe

Remove right drive shaft

from rear torque reaction support of engine

Pull right drive shaft off gearbox stub shaft, raise and secure.
Unscrew stub shaft securing bolt

, counterholding stub shaft.
Place drip tray under gearbox.
Remove stub shaft with compression spring.
Lever out stub shaft oil seal with lever.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:
Lightly oil outer circumference of new oil seal and drive in to tool stop.
Fill space between dust lip and sealing lip half full with
sealing grease

Renew oil seal

Insert stub shaft with spring.
Tighten countersunk bolt for stub shaft

. Counterhold stub shaft when doing this.
Grease splines of stub shaft with
grease for clutch plate splines

Push right drive shaft

Screw bolts

If present, install noise insulation for right drive shaft in wheel housing.
Check gear oil
