Assignment of connector T11 at temperature regulating switch

1 · Earth · brown
2 · Temperature sensor · grey
3 · Temperature sensor · grey
4 · To terminal 58 · grey/blue
5 · Overheating signal · blue/white
6 · Automatic switches for full heating capacity when starting · white
7 · Unassigned
8 · Pulse output · green/red
9 · Electric fuel pump pulse · green/white
10 · Ventilate · black/green
11 · Terminal 30 · red
12 · Switch · yellow

Notes:

Do not jump leads for temperature sensors (2 and 3) otherwise the temperature regulating switch will be damaged irreparably.
If there is a break in the leads in the temperature sensor circuit, the heating operates in the part load area. Too high an interior temperature is simulated.

Test values:

For regulating part E13b between 2 and 3:

Position 1: approx. 870ω
Position 7: approx. 1,000ω

Undervoltage protection: 10.2 V

Delayed switch-off 20 sec.

Overvoltage protection: 15.0 V

Delayed switch-off 20 sec.

Delay time

Approx. 3 sec. after the heating is switched on earth (-) is connected to:

Terminal 5 for combustion air blower V6

Terminal 7 for electric fuel pump

Terminal 8 for glow spark plug

Check fuel delivery of pump

Preparation:

Remove fuel line from heating.
Insert fuel line in measuring glass (10 cc or 25 cc).
Insert voltmeter between terminal 3 (-) and terminal 4 (+) of the control unit J65.
Switch on heating.
Vent fuel hose.

Voltmeter (e. g. V.A.G 1315 A)

Note:

The following measurement must be carried out in the voltage range 11 to 13 volts between terminals 3 and 4 of the control unit J65.

Measurement

After start-up of the blower hold the measuring glass so that it is level with the connection for fuel on the heater.
Switch on stop-watch.
Switch off heating after a minute.
Read off fuel quantity.

Notes:

Do not adjust fuel delivery!
Replace electric fuel pump if applicable.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.

Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
