Removing and installing rear body acceleration sender, front-wheel drive — VW
Removing and installing rear body acceleration sender, front-wheel drive on VW: 9 steps. What to remove, in what order, and what to check after.
On the Passat B7 (platform codes 362 and 365), front-wheel-drive cars with adaptive damping carry a rear body acceleration sender, G343, behind the rear left wheel housing liner. Getting to it is straightforward: loosen the wheel bolts, raise the car, take the rear left wheel off and remove the wheel housing liner. The sender is then unplugged and unbolted from its bracket. The trap on this job is not access but identification. The rear sender must never be swapped with the front body acceleration senders, and its installation position on the bracket has to be noted before it comes off so the new one goes on the same way. Get either wrong and the damping control reads the body movement incorrectly.
🧭 Before you start
Loosen the rear left wheel bolts, raise the vehicle, remove the wheel and the wheel housing liner. Unplug the sender connector, note its installation position on the bracket and unbolt it. Fit the correct rear sender in the same orientation, refit the liner and the wheel and tighten the wheel bolts or nuts to specification.
Fits: VW Passat B7 saloon (362, 2010–2014), VW Passat B7 Variant (365, 2010–2014)

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
