Removing and installing mounting bracket, Passat — VW
Removing and installing mounting bracket, Passat on VW: 25 steps. What to remove, in what order, and what to check after.
Removing the pedal mounting bracket on the Passat B6 2005–2010 and B7 2010–2014 (codes 3C2, 362 and 365). As the bracket carries the clutch master cylinder, the hydraulics are disconnected first. Obtain the radio code and remove the battery, then clamp the supply hose with 3094 or seal it with T10249/1; a spring-type clip may need assembly tool VAS 5024. The pressure line clip is pulled out to its stop and the line drawn off and sealed, and the G476 position sender plug separated. Inside, the lower steering column trim and driver footwell cover come off, then the crash bar and, if fitted, the parking aid buzzer H22 is swung aside. After the damping and the two securing nuts, the bracket pulls off the bulkhead studs.
🧭 Before you start
Get the radio code, remove the battery, clamp the supply hose and disconnect the pressure line and G476 connector. Remove the column trim, footwell cover and crash bar, swing the buzzer aside and remove the nuts to pull the bracket off its studs. Refit with new self-locking nuts, reconnect the line until the clip engages, bleed the clutch and reconnect the battery.
Fits: VW Passat B6 (3C, 2005–2010), VW Passat B7 saloon (362, 2010–2014), VW Passat B7 Variant (365, 2010–2014)
- Opens: brake fluid, clutch fluid
- Renewed: self-locking nuts, hose clips
Don't miss
- Renew the self-locking nuts and the hose clips.
- Seal the disconnected pressure line so fluid does not run onto the gearbox.
- Push the line in until the securing clip engages audibly, then tug-test.
- Bleed the clutch system before driving.
- Carry out the work required after reconnecting the battery.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
